Tatti's Last Day of First Grade

Thank you Pinterest for this super cute idea! I also made one of these for each kiddo in my class! They are so adorable and our school has the perfect brick wall.

Other things that happened in May

Our school had a Disney Day. The kids had to pay $2 to dress like their favorite Disney character or just wear Disney gear. They will be donating the money to charity.  Tatti decided that she wanted to be Belle.

Tatti had her bridging ceremony. She crossed over from Daisies to Brownies.

Her troop leader this year was A-MA-ZING!!! They did so many neat things this year. The kiddos sang: I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, then they were given all their badges for the year.They also got an adorable girl scouts back pack as a prize.  She'll be sorry to see it end until the fall. The troop leaders had their hands full with 18 kindergarten and first graders.  You wouldn't know it, because they were fabulous!!

Later, we all worked on gluing the badges onto her vest. 

Let's not forget Memorial Day!  Mommy had a bad head cold all weekend, but it didn't stop Tatti from picnickig!!

Walk for Cancer

 Our school has a walk for cancer every year. It is a great success. The students raise money and it's donated to the American Cancer Society.  Every grade level walks around our school parking lot.   Parents and high school students join in.  The PTO provides the kiddos with a drink and snack afterwards. Here are a few snapshots of Tatti.

I only got a few snapshots from Tatti's class field trip. They went to Hershey's Zoo America. They had a great time!!

Girl Scout Day at Knobels Grove

 Our girl scout group  went to Knobels Grove (our favorite amusement park).  The girls got in for free and got a patch!  They had a blast.

 There are just so many unique touches that make Knobels a great place for families. Free parking, free admission, great food (at decent prices), the world's best soft ice cream- I could go on and on....

Traveling Rainforest Show Anyone?

Our school had a mini assembly. It was a little traveling rainforest show. The man in charge brought a few animals to show off. The kids  thought it was great! Tatti loved it and asked if we could go to the nighttime showing at a neighboring school. I knew the nighttime showing was pretty cool. (We had  taken Tatti when she was about 3, but of course she didn't remember).  

I decided to be a super cool Mom and take her besties along too.

The girls wanted to stop at Burger King before the show. Tatti just thinks it's cool that they have over 100 flavors of soda!!

It's hard for me to even look at the snake picture. When they got the snakes out at the school assembly, I was literally  crawling out of my skin. They just disgust me so much!! Sorry snake lovers..

They had some really neat, really unique animals. They did really cool tricks and some super funny things. The assembly is neat because they teach them about the animals and discuss the importance of caring for the earth too.

A great time was had by all and the girls have their smiling kinkajus to prove it!

Mother's Day

We had a nice, relaxing Mother's Day filled with family and my Mom's many different kinds of homemade pizza! YUM!!

Tatti is lucky enough to have her  two great grandmother's alive and well.  

Here are some shots of my Mom's 3 favorite pizzas. The top we call bus pizza. They used to sell this when my parents were younger at a little stand. The middle is sausage and peppers and the last one is grilled pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil and tomatoes.  She loves to cook and all 3 of these pizza use a different crust. They're all super delicious.
